Last week I featured the purple boo bag because that was the only one I had finished. But now I have all of them done, yay!!! These bags are inspired a post I saw at Eighteen25 and the adorable bags at The Pottery Barn Kids.
The bags measure 7 x 9 x 4 inches. I made my own template. Including a little template for the handle.
I used a blanket stitch to stitch around the purple one. The other two were sewed on my sewing machine (much faster). The orange bag is a simple straight stitch. The black bag is a zigzag stitch that kinda went crazy. I don't know what happened, but I liked it for this bag.
Now we are going to fill these bags with our favorite Halloween treats, create a tag that says "YOu'VE BEEN BOO'D", and leave it on a neighbor's front step for them to find. The object is to leave it at the door without them knowing it is from us. Inside the bag (along with our treats) we will leave a note explaining that they have been boo'd and they are to pass along their favorite treats to *BOO!* 2 other people. But they can't get caught! In addition to instructions, we will leave a sign for their front door that says they have already been boo'd so they won't get boo'd again.
It's a fun little tradition. The kids love the idea that they can put the bag on the front step, ring the door bell and run. They feel so sneaky.
