Today I decided to try the newest challenge from Embellish Magazine. The challenge was to use the colors pink, red, yellow, and brown as well as use felt somewhere. I love felt! I'm learning many ways to use it. In my card I stamped on it. I used StazOn ink to stamp the butterfly image on the butterfly die cut. I really like the look of it.
For this card I chose to take the colors for the challenge and gradiate them from red on the bottom to pink to yellow using pastels. Then I stamped the words with chocolate chip ink. I added a red scallop for interest. Then I embossed the pink cardstock base using an embossing folder. Then added the sentiment. Thought this card would be perfect for a girl any age.
Thanks for taking a look!

Ok so these are the treats we put in our boo bags...
These are homemade Oreo cookies. Oh! They are so sinfully delicious! You have GOT to try these (if you haven't already...and if you have tried them GO MAKE SOME!).
Here is the recipe:
2 boxes of Devil's Food cake mix
4 eggs
3/4 cup of vegetable or canola oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the above ingredients together in a large bowl. Then form dough into balls. Place onto cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 9 minutes or when the tops begin to crack. Flatten cookies with the bottom of a cup as soon as they are taken from the oven. Cool completely on a wire rack. Make icing (recipe below).
1/2 cup of butter, softened
8oz. cream cheese
3 to 4 cups of powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix above ingredients with an electric mixer adding sugar one cup at a time and mixing in between. Icing is done when it is creamy and thick. It will thicken as it sits, too. Add icing in between two cooled cookies. HINT: Try ice cream instead of the icing...it's really goooooood!
These super yummy cookies are from Living Locurto. They are called Halloween M&M cookies. The directions for the cookie mix and free printable label directions for how to make the cookies are at Living Locurto website.
We thought it would be fun to make a jarred treat for the family we are Booing so they can make them together. They can choose to keep them and enjoy them or pass them on to the next person they are going to BOO!
So our bags were sent out and we felt like secret agents ducking behind bushes and creeping in the dark to leave our Boo Bags without being seen. So much fun!
Last week I featured the purple boo bag because that was the only one I had finished. But now I have all of them done, yay!!! These bags are inspired a post I saw at Eighteen25 and the adorable bags at The Pottery Barn Kids.
The bags measure 7 x 9 x 4 inches. I made my own template. Including a little template for the handle.
I used cookie cutters to create the pumpkin and ghost. I used a template from an old cookbook for the moon and cat. Then I used a simple stitch to attach it.
I used a blanket stitch to stitch around the purple one. The other two were sewed on my sewing machine (much faster). The orange bag is a simple straight stitch. The black bag is a zigzag stitch that kinda went crazy. I don't know what happened, but I liked it for this bag.
Now we are going to fill these bags with our favorite Halloween treats, create a tag that says "YOu'VE BEEN BOO'D", and leave it on a neighbor's front step for them to find. The object is to leave it at the door without them knowing it is from us. Inside the bag (along with our treats) we will leave a note explaining that they have been boo'd and they are to pass along their favorite treats to *BOO!* 2 other people. But they can't get caught! In addition to instructions, we will leave a sign for their front door that says they have already been boo'd so they won't get boo'd again.
It's a fun little tradition. The kids love the idea that they can put the bag on the front step, ring the door bell and run. They feel so sneaky.

The idea for this card just popped into my head yesterday. I just had to try it:)
I created the background for the card by embossing dots with my die machine and embossing folder. Then I rubbed the black ink pad over the raised areas lightly. The effect is a distressed look. The hats and the little bag of goodies make a really fun image. I smiled as I made it.

Inspired by the boo bags I spotted on Eighteen25 and Pottery Barn Kids I came up with this cute boo bag...
This is the first one out of three. I just haven't finished the other two yet. This bag measure 9 x 7. I created my own template for the bag and the little handle. The pumpkin is actually a cookie cutter that I traced onto the orange felt. I just used a slip stitch around the pumpkin and features to attach it to the felt bag. Then I used embroidery thread to do a blanket stitch around the entire bag to attach it together.
I can't wait to leave this cute little bag full of treats on my neighbor's front door. My kids have the best time ringing the doorbell, placing the bag on the step, and running away as fast as they can so it can be a surprise. For now I just have one, but I will share the other two bags when I have them finished. As well as the treats I included inside:)

I created this card using the color pallet for Embellish Magazine's color challenge. The colors were yellow (So Saffron), Grey, black and white.
The second part of the challenge was to make your own designer paper using stamps. I used a simple straight stamp that was part of the Been Boo'd stamp set (from Papertrey Ink) to create lined paper below the ribbon. Then I used a die-cut to create the grey background. I bordered the card by taking a stylist and ruler to create embossed edges.
I really like this color combo. I am in a Halloween mood because it is officially October so went with a spooky theme. But really these colors can be so elegant together. Creating a much different card.

Today's Show~n~tell is brought to you by my children...
We had a type of lazy weekend, but we were also feeling quite creative and ready for Halloween. So the children got together and created this banner...
I cut the orange, green, purple, and black cardstock into 3 inch triangles. They each decorated them. Then we just punched holes in the top corners and attached the triangles to black and white gingham ribbon.
This is a close up view of their artwork...
Then my 9 year old made the spiders from black yarn and black pipe cleaners. We found a tutorial for these spiders at eighteen25. You can check out the tutorial by clicking HERE.
I just love creative weekends!!
