Hello! This is my first time entering the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The challenge was to create a card and decorate the inside. Even embellishing the envelope was an option.
My father's birthday is coming up, so I thought this was a good time to make him his card. I also wanted to take this opportunity to create a card that is not the ordinary rectangle or square. I even made a place for a gift card inside.
So, this is the card front:
This is the card inside:
This is the card with the decorated envelope:
And now I will show how I made the card.
1) Cut a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock in half lengthwise. Then score the paper at 4 1/4 inch and at 9 inches.
2) Use a circle tool to round the corner of the end that has the shortest distance between fold and end.
3) Use the word window punch and center it on the other end of the card. Punch twice side by side to make it large enough for a gift card.
4) Cut designer paper to size. Make sure you glue around the edges of the larger designer paper so there is room to slip the gift card through the word window.
5) Create a larger embellishment that will hold the card closed. Tuck the smaller, rounded piece under the embellishment.
6) Embellish the inside.
Thanks for stopping by!! Happy Hoppping!!
ETA...I just realized I TOTALLY FORGOT to add the details. Here they are:
The Details: (All are from Papertrey Ink unless noted)
Stamps: Vintage Labels, Father Knows Best
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU!), Kiwi kiss (SU!)
Paper: Ocean Tide, Spring Moss Cardstock; Everyday Blessings designer paper
Accessories: Brads from Making Memories
Tools: Labels Nesties Die, Paper Piercing tool, circle cutter
I'm hopping a little later than normal! Your project is fabulous! What a super design - thanks so much for the tutorial, I think I'll have to try this out!

Hi Jen! I couldn't join the blog hop last night due to the time difference, so I am catching up now. Your card is beautiful. Masculine cards aren't the easiest ones to make, but you did a great job. Thanks for the inspiration!
