Happy Wednesday! Sorry my blog has been quiet this week. My daughter's 9th birthday was yesterday. So we have been having some family fun. :)
Check out the cake I made for her. She wanted a doggy cake for her birthday. I found this super simple cake over at Family Fun Magazine. The two little paws are cupcakes. My daughter wanted her doggy to be a yellow lab. We had so much fun decorating the cake (and eating all the yummy candies).
The inside of the cake was chocolate. I used whipped vanilla frosting and colored it yellow. I had to buy two cans of frosting to fully cover the cake. Black shoestring liquorish was used for the ears and nose/mouth area. Junior Mints were used for the paws and nose. Then I used mini Oreos, opened, for the eyes. My daughter wanted blue eyes for the dog, so we added blue M&Ms. The tongue and collar are made from red Fruit By The Foot fruit rolls. The tag on the collar is a purple Spree. I think the cake was so much fun to make, and was super sweet and yummy. The kids really loved it!!
So now that that is behind us, I couldn't go another day without creating a card. Today I want to share a really sweet one. I just got Woolies from Basic Grey and I just had to try them. :) The card is pretty simple (took me 15 minutes) but it would certainly make an impression.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope to see you soon.
