Great Christmas Gift Idea - Thanks Michelle

Ok...I have had about a gazillion gift ideas in my head these past few weeks.  But I have not made any of them!!  None of them have really gotten my juices flowing.  That is until I happened across Michelle Wooderson's blog.  She had a positively adorable tutorial about her Clipboard Notepad Organizer.  When I saw that I thought it would be the perfect gift for my mom and dad and sister.  So my  juices finally started to flow.  

Michelle's clipboard was primarily centered toward Christmas organizing.  I wanted my clipboards to match the decor of my mom and sister's homes.  I also wanted them to be available to them all year long.  I looked through all my designer papers and chose to use my Stampin' Up paper.  I covered the notepads and printed the labels on the computer.  I don't even remember what font I used, but I really liked it because it looked stamped.  The labels say; Honey Do, Shopping List, and Things To Do. 

 

The two gifts really didn't take me very long to create.  Now I just need to hurry and get them in the mail before it's too late!!

The Details:  Clipboard 1 - I painted the clipboard with an off white acrylic paint.  The notepads are from PTI and are covered with Not Quite Navy cardstock, Bella Bleu DP, and Kraft Cardstock.  The labels are stamped with Vintage Labels (PTI) in Chocolate Chip ink.  Then it was diecut with my nesties. The ribbon is Very Vanilla from SU!  The buttons are from PTI.  I used Not Quite Navy cardstock to hold the notebooks.  The ribbon on the top is from my craft room stash.

Clipboard 2 - I painted the clipboard with a chocolate color to match the chocolate chip cardstock holding the notepads.  The notepads are covered in Chocolate Chip cardstock, Sahara Sand cardstock, and To the Nines DP from SU!  The ribbon is Chocolate Chip grosgrain from SU!  The labels are stamped with Vintage Labels stamp set (PTI) in Chocolate Chip ink. Then cut with my nesties label.  The ribbon on the top of the clipboard is Whisper White. 

I LOVED making these and think they are just darling.  I need to make one for myself.  Thanks so much Michelle for this awesome idea!!

A Stocking Gift Card Holder

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  Today I would like to share this adorable idea from Clair Brennan at Walzing Mouse Stamps.  This little stocking gift card holder is soooo easy to make and it makes such an impression.  I made one up in under an hour...and it took me that long because I made a mistake (LOL).  You can get Clair's template and her instructions HERE.

 

 

The Details: My gift card holder was primarily made from Stampin' Up! materials.  I used designer paper that had retired a while ago (I can't remember the name of it).  The toe and heel are made with old olive textured cardstock and them faux stiched with Chocolate Chip marker.  Then I added a scallop at the top with the same textured cardstock.  The inside was lined with Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink.  The stamp is from the dollar bin at Micheals.  For the tag I used my nesties die and stamped a boarder with the Vintage Labels stamp set from PTI (I just got it...can't wait to play with it some more:).  I stamped off snowflakes on the stamp with the SU! stamp set Snow Swirled.  The colors I used were Riding Hood Red ink and Baja Breeze ink (both retired). The TO and FROM are from the SU! stamp set Winter Post.  Then I added a Felt Flurry snowflake and Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.  I used my Crop-a-dile to make a hole in the corner for the ribbon.

Tea Time Gift

I hope everyone had a splendid Thanksgiving holiday.  Mine was wonderful!  I spent some time with my family.  It was a small gathering, but it was so nice. 

Today I want to share a cute last minute gift idea.  I really like sipping herbal tea when the weather gets cold.  I have many different flavors in my cupboard.  So if ever I am in need of a simple gift I can open my cupboard and choose some flavors to give.  But what makes this gift special in the packaging.  So here are the details on how I made it.  All materials but the ink are from Papertrey Ink.  The ink is from Stampin' Up!.

 
The first thing I did was measure the tea bags.  They measure 3x3 inches.  So I grabbed some purple cardstock and cut 6 1/4 by 6 1/4 square.  Then I scored 1 7/8 inches in on each side of the square.  Then I cut four of the scores as shown in the picture below.  I glued the box together with Tombo adhesive.

 
I added piece of patterned paper on the bottom and scalloped it. Then I stamped an image from the Tea For Two stamp set, cut it out and adhered it with dimensionals.  I wanted to add a little something tot he tea bags so I punched out a tag, stamped it and attached it to the bag with a staple. 

 
  I inserted the box into a cellophane bag and added a box and a couple tags.  The gift is finished in no time and it looks so special.  It's really great for teachers, neighbors or bring it with you to that last minute Christmas bash.
