Good afternoon! TGIF!!
First off, I want to apologize for being MIA lately. I have had a really busy couple of weeks. Last week my kids were sick, so I only had one post. Then this week I was busy (and distracted) tending some children. I often pick up a couple kindergartners from school. The kindergarten here is only half day. So I pick up a couple girls who's moms work. I watch them through the afternoon until their moms get off work. It's not everyday, just days the moms have to go into work. I also watch my nephew through the day. He goes to kindergarten next year. This week was an exceptionally busy week though. So I was pretty distracted. I couldn't find time to sneak away and stamp.
So here we are on Friday with my TSN. I have seen tons of cards that have been stitched with embroidery floss. I really LOVE the look of it. But I do not sew! I tried it anyway.
I started with a stamp that has not seen ink yet. I rummaged through my box of embroidery thread that my mom gave me years ago. I decided on bold bright colors that matched the cardstock I had on hand.
I thought the dots on this Autumn Leaves star stamp would be perfect for sewing. I stamped the image onto white cardstock with a very light ink. I used Blush Blossom from SU!. Then I used a paper piercer to punch each of the dots. I threaded my needle and sewed. I have to admit the sewing was very calming.
Then I stamped the star again with Night of Navy and cut out the middle star. I used a dimensional to give it a little height. Then I finished designing my card.
Truthfully, I am not sure I like this card all that much. I had some trouble getting my mojo going. I try to step out of my "normal". Sometimes I really like it, sometimes I don't. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have more posts next week. Cross my fingers:)
